Handpans first hit the streets in 2007 and have rapidly grown in popularity worldwide. Their appeal lies in their ability to blend the sounds of a steel drum with more varied tonal texture and rhythm plus they are easy to carry.  Making them a firm favourite of buskers, sound practitioners and musicians. Allow your creativity to flourish as you develop rhythms and learn basic techniques with Sasha.  

Class is suitable for all ages from rank novices never having touched a handpan to beginners. More advanced training available on request.

About Sasha

Sasha Frolov stands out as one of the few professional handpan players in Hong Kong. With over 15 years of experience in percussion, including 8 years dedicated specifically to mastering the handpan, Sasha has carved a niche for himself as a versatile and accomplished musician in the industry.

Sasha's musical journey began over a decade ago when he first discovered his passion for percussive instruments, initially inspired by the rhythms of the African drum Djembe. However, it was the unique combination of rhythm, melody, and harmony found in the handpan that truly captivated him, drawing him in deeply. Sasha is acclaimed for his ability to evoke emotional resonance through music, with his performances creating a tranquil and harmonious atmosphere for audiences. Terms & Conditions

Please note that all packages and gift vouchers are valid for three months from the date of issue. Exceptions may be made under extraordinary circumstances, but this is not guaranteed.

If you cancel a booking at least three hours before an event, you may reschedule once within a month of the original booking.  However, if you cancel within three hours of the event or do not show up, you will forfeit the booking and the fee.

For refund request (If you cancel at least three hours before an event), please note that we will withhold a $50 administrative fee per booking.

Suitable for all age groups (9 and above), no experience necessary and beneficial to all. 

Pricing - HK$1900 including rental of handpan / $1200 excluding handpan

Bring - Wear comfortable clothes that you may sit in. Changing facilities available.

Provided - Handpans if necessary

Getting Here - By MTR exit Wong Chuk Hang station off the South Island Line, take exit B. Walk to far end of pedestrian overpass, down the steps and turn left onto Yip Kan Rd.  We are the third  car park opening on left, if you see a fire hydrant, you are there.  Enter through the back of building after 1800, not the entrance on Wong Chuk Hang Rd. Parking available on the street at night.

Studio Etiquette - You may enter 15 minutes before class, please leave shoes, coats, phones and personal belongings in the cubbies by the door. Please leave your phone on silent, outside the room.

Latecomers - Class will begin on time. 

End of class - Please help us maintain the studio by returning all props to their original locations. Take responsibility for washing your own tea cup.  We appreciate you feeling as though the studio is an extension of your own home and appreciate your help in keeping it tidy, clean and welcoming.
