I am pleased to announce upcoming gong workshops in Bangkok. This is the first time I have offered the full suite of classes from flumies to level 3 at once in Thailand. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore a myriad of gongs from a variety of manufacturers, to learn the sacred art of gongs in this deep dive immersive training.
The host is the Crystal Tones and Grotto Sonora distributor for Thailand and has amassed a large collection of gongs from German manufacturers to practice on.
The flumie class is suitable for all levels of experience, even non gong players. Here we develop expertise working collaboratively with the gongs to elicit cosmic whale like transformative sounds.
The gong training journey consists of:
Level 1 - everything you need to know in order to start your relationship with gongs. From history to types of gongs, seated and standing options, transport, care and maintenance over 40 ways of striking them and selecting one for personal practice.
Level 2 - The focus is on playing for others. Here we explore the techniques of facilitation, playing intuitively, managing group energy, the power of intention, duty of care, ethics, playing positions and integration of modalities.
Level 3- Multi player and multi instrument. To share sacred sound in a group is a unique immersive experience and when done for others in a performance setting has the capacity to transform the audience. This class introduces other instruments to create comprehensive sound journeys as well as toning, overtoning, rhythm, the importance of beat and more.
The three levels are inspired and heavily influenced by my primary teacher Don Conreaux’s Gong Master Training programs plus content garnered through workshops and personal development with other notables including Mitch Nur, Martin Blase, Jens Zygar, Mehtab Benton and others.
